The cream of the crop Filipino wrestlers will be determined during the staging of the WAP Nationals 2019 that will be held on May 25 to 26 at the Filinvest Mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Wrestling Association of the Philippines (WAP) president Alvin Aguilar said wrestling clubs nationwide will field it’s best bets in freestyle, Greco Roman and grappling.

The tournament will serve as qualifying event for the final formation of the national team that will compete in the upcoming 30th Southeast Asian Games come November 30 to December 11.

“Our best of the best wrestlers will be selected in this national open tournament. Our goal is to win more golds to help our Team Philippines to win another SEA Games overall championship that is a mission possible,” said Aguilar who is also the founder of Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) Mixed Martial Arts Global.

“Proof of our optimism is our athletes’ domination in the Southeast Asia Wrestling Championship held in San Pablo City early this year,” he added.

Adult men and women with added Kiddie competition will feature the two-day event supported by Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee and Festival Alabang.
