PSC PHOTO CONTEST LAUNCHED

The Philippine Sports Commission is sponsoring a photo contest entitled “20 Years of Philippine Sports,” in line with the agency’s 20th anniversary celebration. The contest is open to all amateur and professional photographers in the country.

PSC offers P100,000 for the grand prize winner with the second and third placers receiving P50,000 and P25,000, respectively. The next two placers will receive P10,000 each.

Entries may be submitted in colored or black and white forms and must be printed on an 8x10 glossy paper with or without border (If with border, a maximum of 1 inch per side black-colored border is required.)

Only photographs of athletes, sports personalities, sports events and sports fans taken from Jan. 1, 1990 up to Dec. 31, 2009, published or unpublished, will be accepted. Participants may submit more than one entry but will only win the higher award.

Due to the expected huge turnout of entries, a panel of judges coming from various sectors will conduct a preliminary judging with the top 50 entries advancing to the finals. From the 50 finalists, five entries will win the top prizes while the last 45 shall receive consolation prizes of P2,000 each.

Entries will be displayed in a photo exhibit during the “All in Sports Expo” on February 25-28, 2010 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Submission of entries is now open and will end on Feb. 12, 2010 at the Chairman’s Office of the PSC or at the Sports Press Photographers Association of the Philippines (SPPAP) office. For inquiries, contact SPPAP Secretary Mr. Ver Noveno at mobile numbers 09206338101 or 09228491745.
