The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) on Tuesday approved the P1.25 million worth of incentives for members of the Philippine national women's football team following their qualification for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Each member of the 23-player team, including the two reserves, will receive P50,000, in recognition also of their semifinals appearance in the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup.

“I am proud of our women football team members. We met them yesterday and we can feel their humility and strong team spirit," PSC chair Butch Ramirez said, referring to the Monday courtesy call of the women's team. "I think this contributed much to their success, among other factors,"

The national women's squad qualified for the Women's World Cup after defeating Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals of the AFC Women's Asian Cup. They fell to world no. 18 South Korea in the semis of the said tournament.
