Philippine Sports Commission held the closing ceremony of PSC-MILO Summer Sports Program with the theme “Lakas ng Kabataan para sa Kinabukasan” on May 23, 2008, 3:00 pm at Enchanted Kingdom Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Medals and certificates were awarded by PSC Commissioner Jose Y. Mundo, Leslie Chong of Milo assisted by Taekwondo athletes Japoy and Jaira Lizardo to those participants with exemplary performance in their respective sports. The children enjoyed their graduation with their guardians having free ride-all you can tags, also wizard money were given by Enchanted Kingdom President Mario Mamon to the awardees. The summer sports program started last April 9, 2008 and was participated by more than 100 PSC employees’ children and relatives ages 17 and below. This April-May 2008 joint project of PSC and Milo offers free training for badminton(boys and girls), gymnastics(boys and girls), swimming(boys and girls) and basketball(boys). Now on its third year, PSC’s youth sports program initiated by Chairman William “Butch” Ramirez aims to promote sports awareness while inculcating discipline, teamwork, respect, initiative, and cooperation amongst the participants. Also, this year’s sports program guaranteed the parents of the participants that their children had a productive and enjoyable summer vacation. PSC expresses appreciation for the support of Philippine Badminton Association, Philippine Gymnastics Association, Samahang Basketbolista ng Pilipinas (SBP) and Philippine Amateur Swimming Association-Water Polo.
